| Written by Harry Noble in 1952, this song has been a hit, time after time, for generations. Mel Carter's 1965 version is the one most people remember. From the very first discussions of the Red Hat Romeos doing shows, then as the idea for a CD began forming, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" was always one tune that seemed perfect for a romantic tribute project designed specifically for the wonderful ladies who wear scarlet chapeaus and purple clothing. The song has since been placed at the top of nearly everyone's list who has heard the CD, citing the romantic lyrics that include the classic line, "...but they never stood in the dark with you, love, when you take me in your arms and drive me slowly out of my mind!" Heartfelt teenage angst back then! Heartfelt Red Hatter angst now! Some things just never seem to go out of style... thankfully! |
